LEXINGTON, SC – The County of Lexington Emergency Operations Center has entered operational condition 3, which is a partial activation of the County’s EOC in preparation for the impacts of Hurricane Florence.
OPCON 3 prepares emergency response units to prepare for weather-related events generated by the storm. County emergency management has enlisted the help of the County’s Community Emergency Response Team, which is comprised of volunteers that are able to assist in emergency relief efforts.
Lexington County EMS, 911 and Fire Service have additional staffing on standby and ready to respond to emergencies around the County. Public Works crews have checked numerous ponds around the County, as well as cleared debris from stormwater drains and outlets.
Several County departments are working on adjusted schedules due to the potential impacts of the storm:

The County of Lexington does not supply sandbags for public use. Residents with special medical needs need to ensure that they are acquiring the necessary medicines and healthcare equipment to sustain themselves throughout the duration and aftermath of the storm.
