Mobile home burns Saturday morning off Lost Branch Road
Round Hill, SC (Paul Kirby) – A single-wide mobile home with an addition on it was destroyed in the 500 block of Lost Branch Road between Round Hill, Gilbert, and Lake Murray Saturday morning. The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m.
The first fire units that arrived reported that they had heavy flames showing from the front of the home. They immediately searched the home for victims, found none, and attacked the fire. Battalion Chief Brad Amick arrived on the scene and took command of the incident making sure that all the firefighters were accounted for and directing the fire attack. The crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly, but they stayed on the scene for some time making sure that the fire was completely out and picking up their equipment.
The fire service hasn’t released the cause of the fire. They had a number of fire engines and tankers on the scene from more than five different county stations. There was also had an EMS unit on standby for the safety of the firefighters. The county hasn’t reported anyone being injured as a result of the fire.
