SC High School League announces decision regarding games postponed by Hurricane Florence; This week&

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – The SC High School League held a meeting Tuesday morning with coaches, athletic directors, and principals by telephone and in person to untangle the mess of a schedule for high school football that Hurricane Florence left them. Many of the state’s high school games were postponed, and it looked at first as if they might try to squeeze them in sometime this week. They have now released a statement that reads that the games scheduled for last week, week 4 (September 10th -14th) of the 2018 season, may be moved to the week of October 29th – November 2nd. That will be decided at a later date. The regular games for weeks 5-10 will remain just as they were originally scheduled.

During that same meeting, they also decided that the football playoffs for all classifications will now begin on November 9th, 2018. The State Championships will now be scheduled for December 7th and 8th.

What does that mean for Lexington County? Here are the games that should be played this week by our teams. Only one game, Gilbert vs. River Bluff, pits two Lexington County teams against each other:
