Cayce/West Columbia (Paul Kirby) - Twenty-five FEMA agents will be using the GCWC Chamber office for at least this week as part of the Hurricane Florence relief effort. These agents are part of a group of 500 that are using Columbia as a base while they help our citizens in need due to Florence.
The Chamber will be doing Chamber business as usual. They simply ask that if you need them, please contact them by phone or email if at all possible. If you do need to come by the Chamber office personally, please contact them by phone to verify that Cory or Richard is in the office.
Due to FEMA regulations, there will be an armed guard on the premises. If you have a key or code for the office, please do not access the office after hours without Chamber staff. They want to thank you for understanding and working with them as they do their part through this next week or so.
The CWC Chamber has also been contacted by the Cajun Navy asking them to be the lead for supply donations. They deliver these supplies to the South Carolinians that are still under water. Attached is a list of items needed.
Soon, the Chambers director will provide a list of drop off points. If you have available warehouse space and would like to donate space, please contact the Chamber office. They are especially looking for a location that has an 18-wheeler accessible dock. Right now, the best way to offer help is by e-mailing or calling Richard at firstname.lastname@example.org or (803) 466-1491.
