West Columbia Police Department now calling Tuesday night shooting an attempted murder

West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – Officers with the West Columbia Police Department are now calling the shooting which happened at 450 Meeting Street in the city last night an attempted murder. This occurred in the Valero gas and convenience store around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.


According to Assistant Police Chief Scott Morrison, there was apparently some type of altercation at the store. The suspect produced a firearm, fired several times, and struck the victim twice. He then fled the scene in a silver/grey Chevrolet HHR toward the city of Columbia.
