Lexington Police Department “Adopt-A-Cop” Fall Festival is tonight

Lexington, SC (October 18, 2018) – The Lexington Police Department “Adopt-A-Cop” Fall Festival is approaching and Chief Terrence Green would like to invite the Town of Lexington community to bring the entire family out to this annual event.

The Lexington Police Department “Adopt-A-Cop” Fall Festival will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. As in years past, the “Adopt-A-Cop” Fall Festival will be a night of family fun featuring games, food, costume contests, rides, and more.

The cost for the event will be $5 per person or $20 per family. Admission provides visitors with food from various vendors, Air Fun rides, costume contest with prizes, games, pie throwing contest, mascots and much more.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lexington Police Department “Adopt-A-Cop” Foundation which is an innovative approach to community resource development as it can target specific needs identified by personnel at all levels within the department. Donations can provide funding to pilot new community based programs and assess their effectiveness prior to integration into long-term budgets. The program also gives contributors the opportunity to provide tax deductible individualized support of their local police department by selecting specific programs or materials to support in accordance with an individual's or corporate giving philosophy.

Each year a local organization is chosen as a focus for this event and afterwards a donation is made from a portion of the proceeds. This year’s donation will go to the Scooter Scott Project which will support after-school and GED programs for local youth. More information can be found on their Facebook page.

Parking is available in the public parking lots near the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex. Please avoid parking in a private parking lot without permission. Doing so may risk your vehicle being towed. Entrances to the Fall Festival event can be accessed from Maiden Lane and on South Lake Drive at the Lexington County Courthouse and Administration building exit.

More information can be found on the “Adopt-A-Cop” Fall Festival Facebook event page.
