CAYCE, SC - It’s that time of year! The City of Cayce is excited to announce this year’s annual “Christmas in Cayce” events. Kicking off November 30, several holiday events will be taking place throughout their City.
Here is a list of the special activities planned this year:
Thursday, November 30, 6 PM - 40th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
Sponsored by The Woman’s Club of Cayce
Proceeds from the sale of lights are given to God’s Helping Hands. The Woman’s Club also sponsors the “Cayce Cares” food drive and ask that you bring canned goods and non-perishables for God’s Helping Hands. The event will include a community reception and is free to the public.
Cayce Neighborhood Tree Lighting
Cayce’s neighborhoods have joined together to provide a little Christmas spirit of their own. Each participating neighborhood will line their streets with lighted trees giving you a ride through a fantasy “winter wonderland.” For more information on this program, call 730.5487.
The Cayce Avenues Association is taking orders for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting fundraiser. Trees can be pre-ordered by residents of the Cayce and West Columbia Avenues until Saturday, November 18. The tree cost this year is $22, and tree distribution will begin Thanksgiving afternoon, November 23, and ends Saturday morning, November 25. Friday, December 1, 6:30 PM – 8 PM - Carols Along the Riverwalk Cayce Riverwalk Park
N Avenue Entrance, Riverwalk Pavilion. Parking at Brookland-Cayce High School, free trolley ride to the Riverwalk. The sounds of Christmas abound at the Cayce Riverwalk Park where several area church choirs and local musicians will be located throughout the first half mile of the park. Visitors can wander from group to group enjoying holiday musical selections. The Riverwalk will be lighted with luminaries and refreshments will be served free of charge.
Saturday, December 2, 6 PM – 9 PM - War Between the States Lantern Tours
As darkness falls, scenes from the great American war come to life. History and comedy make this event a memorable and popular activity. Presented by the 20th SC Volunteer Infantry. For more information, call the Cayce Historical Museum at 739.5385.
Saturday, December 2, 6 PM - Christmas Traditions at
Cayce Historical Museum’s Annual Holiday Open House
The sights, sounds and tastes of Christmas abound at the Museum’s 28th annual Christmas Traditions Holiday Open House. Each room of the Museum will be decorated with trees and crafts from the 18th Century to present. The Open House will also feature live entertainment, docents dressed in period attire, and light refreshments.
