Springdale police officers arrest man after finding him passed out in car with gun and drugs

Springdale, SC (Paul Kirby) - Wednesday night,officers with the Springdale Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man after the man was found passed out in his car at a gas station on the 3200 block of Platt Springs Road. Since he was located there, he has been arrested and charged with several crimes.

An off-duty officer from another jurisdiction stopped at the gas station and saw the man passed out in his running car. That officer notified Springdale PD and their officer responded to the store. When their officer opened the door to wake the man, a loaded gun fell from where it was on the man’s body to the ground.Further investigation revealed the man was intoxicated as well. Eventually, further investigation led to the discovery of schedule 4 narcotics, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and whiskey bottles that was already emptied. Officers also discovered that the man was a convicted felon and was not authorized to possess a firearm.

The man was arrested and has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful carry of a firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of schedule 4 narcotics (second offense), and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Springdale Police Officers, additional charges may be forthcoming.
