South Congaree’s Christmas Parade weather watch

South Congaree, SC - On Wednesday afternoon, the Town of South Congaree issued a statement about their Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 8th at 10 AM. In the statement they said, "Town Hall is closely watching the weather forecast for Saturday morning. Currently, the National Weather Service is calling for an 80% chance of rain coming in Saturday morning. We are hoping that the rain will hold off long enough for the parade to take place, but our main concern is that everyone remains healthy and safe during the Christmas Season. There are many things to consider when watching the weather for a parade. Wet roads become very slippery causing a higher risk of injury and liability as well as our elderly citizens and children getting cold and wet and becoming sick. The decision to go ahead with the parade or to cancel will be made by Friday Morning. Please know that we are very excited about our Christmas Parade this year and are cheering for wonderful weather on Saturday. Please keep check our Facebook page on Thursday a great rest of the week."
