Saturday water main break near Gaston closes road, puts on quite a show
Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – A water main that broke on Woodtrail Drive Saturday just northeast of Gaston put on quite a show before the water company cut it off to make repairs. A geyser of water shot approximately 30 feet in the air as the water came gushing out at the road’s edge. Emergency crews quickly closed Woodtrail Drive until the utility company could arrive and cut the water off. Then, they brought in the equipment and manpower necessary to make repairs.
Residents in the area serviced by that company were asked to boil their water for several minutes before using it. This boil-water advisory will remain in effect until the water lines are completely flushed of any bacteria that might have entered the system during the break.
