Man that was shot trying to flee arrest in 2017 and his two accomplices sentenced to prison

December 20, 2018

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – A man and his two accomplices were each sentenced to prison this week for their role in an armed robbery, attempted murder and conspiracy. This was all in connection with a shooting on Carrie Lane in the Gaston area in February of 2017. The man, Bradley Thompson, was shot in a dramatic confrontation with officers about 10 days later as Lexington County deputies and US marshals tried to serve him with arrest warrants. He and the others had been hiding out at a home on Boiling Springs Road near Platt Springs Road when the man was wounded trying to escape his fate.

Thompson, Tiffany Metze, and Noah Billie were the three suspects that were being sought. All three were believed involved in the Gaston robbery of a man who had been shot himself during that crime. As law enforcement officers from several agencies closed in with arrest warrants in hand, Thompson rammed two patrol cars with his vehicle as he tried to flee. In the process, a law enforcement officer was pinned between several vehicles. At that point, officers opened fire on him and hit him multiple times. Thompson was wounded, but not killed.

This week, a federal judge sentenced Thompson to more than 14 years in prison. Billie received 10 years and Metze was sentenced to more than 4 years. They will serve their time in a federal prison.
