Lexington County deputies wants to know who dropped the bacon

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Deputies with the Lexington Count Sheriff’s Department are trying to find out who dropped this pig off for a little rest and relaxation at the county’s Animal Control’s building on Ballpark Road Friday. As the sheriff’s department’s social media pages said in jest, the pig was left in the “porking lot.”

There is a right and a wrong way to surrender animals that you find or can no longer care for to an animal control officer. However, it is dangerous to just leave any type of animal in a parking lot or even a rural area. That type of behavior is also illegal. The animal could wander onto someone else’s property and cause damages you’d be responsible for. You might be held liable if it wanders into a road causing an accident. If you know who this rotund fellow belongs to, please call Sgt. Ben Treasterat 803-518-7921. You may be eligible for a sizable bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich if your tip gets this little piggie home!
