Band students chosen for clinic at University of South Carolina

Lexington, SC - Hundreds of talented high school band students from across the nation
converge each year on the University of South Carolina for a weekend of music and learning.
Joining them this year are students from each Lexington District One high school band program.


Founded in 1976 by James K. Copenhaver, the School of Music’s Band Clinic is among the
nation’s longest-running and most prestigious honor band events.


Students audition with instruments including oboe, trombone, clarinet and more. Organizers
accept the top 400 band students.


Band clinic participants from Lexington District One include:


• Gilbert High’s DJ Metts, Kris Phelps and Owen Smith;
• Lexington High’s Adin Daniels, Timothy Harmon, Kelly Joyner, Adam Killman, Kathryn
King and Katie Sightler;
• Pelion High’s Journey Castro, Rhegan Durden, Anthony Holm and Belle Kneece;
• River Bluff High’s Dominick Campbell, Emily Candillo, Jessie Clancy, Megan Clancy,
Claire Henke, Raymond Immerso, Josef Ivory, Devon Mastin, Sarah Maxwell, Ryleigh
Osment, Matthew Rattray, Chris Thompson, Aleigh Trotter and Quinn Weathers; and
• White Knoll High’s Theresa Boynton, Hannah Butler, Elijah Caligiuri, Chris Eggleston,
Adam Graybill, Preston Hage, Zach Mattox, Patrick McManus, Kayla Siderman, Savannah
Strickland and Natalie Warren.


District band students will participate during the clinic, held February 14–17, 2019.
