One in custody following Red Bank church burglary Monday

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – One person has been taken into custody after a harrowing experience for an employee of the Red Bank United Methodist Church on Monday. According to Captain Adam Myrick of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, that arrest was made sometime later Monday evening. He said that he will have more information to share on the arrest later Tuesday.

Monday, an employee of the church was reporting to work when she found someone inside the building apparently burglarizing it. That person was able to escape, and the Sheriff’s Department was notified. Deputies and K-9s with their handlers responded, but they were unsuccessful in tracking the suspect down.

Myrick has not yet said how the suspect was located. We are waiting on the details and the identity of the person in custody and will update with that information as soon as we have it.
