Lexington Police Department releases video of vehicle involved in hit & run

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Lexington Police Department has released video footage of a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run in the town on February 22, 2019. The collision occurred at the intersection of West Main Street and Third Avenue. This all happened at night when it was dark; however, the wreck was caught on the cameras of a nearby building.

According to police, a white car that may be a Chevrolet Camaro, disregarded a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. The driver of the white car then fled the scene of the accident without stopping. The white car may have body damage to its grill, headlights, hood, or even the front quarter panels. It could also have enough mechanical damage that would require its radiator, A.C. condenser, fan and fan shroud, or other front-end parts replaced. The owner of the car may be trying to conceal the damage to the car by parking it in a garage, in a manner that is different than they normally would, or even try to find someone to make repairs without reporting the damage to their insurance company.

Anyone who recognizes the car or may know who was driving it at the time of the collision, is asked to contact Traffic Investigator Payton at (803) 359-6260.
