Chapin We Care Center receives donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

March 20, 2019

Chapin, SC - Chapin We Care Center has received $2500 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local residents. We Care will use the gift to purchase food necessary to keep our pantry adequately stocked to meet the needs of our clients.

“Food is the most basic and necessary life-sustaining gift, and we are delighted to partner with Food Lion Feeds to ensure that all of our clients will receive adequate, healthy nutrition to meet their needs. We are deeply grateful for the strong support from Food Lion and appreciate their commitment to serve our community,” said Alecia Klauk, We Care Executive Director.

Chapin We Care Center has served Chapin and lower Newberry County for over 32 years, ensuring that our neighbors in need receive appropriate nutrition, as well as assisting with other necessary needs such as utility disbursements and household items. The $2500 grant from Food Lion Feeds will allow us to purchase such necessary food for our clients. We Care envisions a community where clients are provided emergency help, are empowered to become self-sufficient, and are integrated into the social fabric of our community.

Established in 2001, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $12 million in grants.
