Batesburg-Leesville Assistant Town Manager Seth Duncan takes job in York, SC
Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) – Batesburg-Leesville’s Assistant Town Manager Seth Duncan is leaving to the job of city manager in the City of York, SC. Duncan had been in the Batesburg-Leesville position for four years. Duncan said in a statement e-mailed to The Lexington Ledger regarding his B&L tenure, “The memories and friendships we have gained will remain with us forever.”
Duncan said that he is excited to begin this new challenge. He said York is experiencing phenomenal growth and is looking for a manager to help with that growth and rebuild their aging infrastructure. He said that he will take the lessons and experience he’s gained from serving Batesburg-Leesville and apply those to the challenges facing York. “I am grateful for the opportunity I have had in Batesburg-Leesville and am honored to have worked with so many dedicated public servants,” Duncan said.
Duncan attended The Ohio State University and then received his master’s in public administration from the University of South Carolina. He is a graduate of Leadership Lexington County and the Local Government Leadership Institute.
Mayor Eddie Lee, the current mayor of York, said in a statement on that city’s website that Duncan immediately stood out as an exceptional candidate out of the 46 applications they received. Duncan is married to Johnna, and the couple have three school age children and one that will begin USC in the fall.
The mayor of York said that Duncan will take over the operations of their city hall on August 19th of this year.
