South Congaree resident and Doctor of Chiropractic goes big to support the community with rodeo sponsorship

July 26, 2019

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – Dr. of Chiropractic Jennifer Porter has a successful practice on South Lake Drive in Red Bank. Her practice, Premier One Spinal Care, has been growing because she’s put a great deal of effort into making it that way. She grew up in the Lexington area, but has been a resident of South Congaree with her husband Bobby for the past 12 years.Together, the pair believe that a community can only get better when the people do their part to help make it better.

Bobby is also a businessman himself. He owns Premier One Construction and is a successful contractor. He’s also a member of South Congaree’s Town Council. Together, he and Jennifer take service to their community and giving back to the town they live in very seriously. That’s why Bobby says he was very proud of his wife when she decided she wanted to become a major sponsor of the South Congaree Championship Rodeo. According to Rance Woodley, the promoter of the rodeo, Premier One Spinal Care has sponsored the tremendous cost of leasing the arena from the Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission.

Jennifer says that she wants to set an example to the community and other businesses by supporting the rodeo and the economic impact it brings the area. This leading by example is what she does. She said she hopes that other businesses will help the town throughout the year in their own way. She’s also hoping that the entire community will jump onboard as well. “You don’t have to give money if you can’t spare it,” Jennifer said. “Often, your time is just as important as money. If you can volunteer, pitch in, and work for the good of the entire area, do that!”

Her husband said in a telephone interview that he was proud of his wife for stepping up to the plate. “She’s accomplished a great deal in her 16 years of practicing her chosen profession. It means a great deal to me that she’s decided to give back to the community so that everyone can enjoy the rodeo.”

Bobby Porter reiterated his wife’s comments. “There’s so much to do here and so few hands working right now. As a councilman in South Congaree, we need as many hands as we can get. As we move forward, it’s heartening to see the businesses getting involved. They're forming a business association, and helping give back to the community that’s given so much to them,” Porter said.

The South Congaree Championship Rodeo is Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the rodeo begins each night at 7:30 p.m. This is an IPRA rodeo, the nation’s largest rodeo sanctioning body.
