Coroner Fisher releases the name of the person who perished in Pelion vehicle accident Friday

September 28, 2019

Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher and her staff have released the identity of the man who died as a result of a motor vehicle collision that occurred near Pelion Friday morning. Fisher said that the fatal accident occurred in the 200 block of James Dunbar Road near Otis Road shortly before 9:00 a.m. on September 27, 2019.

According to Coroner Fisher, David Charles Dickerson, 52, of Pelion was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. Fisher’s staff said that Dickerson’s vehicle was eastbound of James Dunbar when another vehicle crossed the center line and the two collided. Dickerson was not wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital; the condition of that individual is currently unknown.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
