Cayce, SC - Dominion Energy South Carolina is offering its residential electric customers an opportunity to turn their old, secondary refrigerators and/or freezers into cash through their Appliance Recycling Program. As a bonus, customers who schedule their pick-up to take place between Oct. 15 and Dec. 31 will automatically be entered to win one of three Smart Prize Packs valued at $500.
“The Appliance Recycling Program not only helps customers save energy and money, it also includes the convenience of a free pick-up and $50 cash back per unit for up to two eligible appliances,” said Gerald Freeman, program manager of Dominion Energy South Carolina’s Appliance Recycling Program. “Since 2014, over 13,000 appliances have been recycled through the program, offering each participant the opportunity to save up to $105 annually on their electric bill.”
Each Smart Prize Pack includes:
Nest Learning Thermostat,
Second-generation Amazon Echo Show SMART Speaker, and
Five energy-efficient LED (Light-Emitting Diode) bulbs.
“In addition to providing customers with a rebate and a chance to win a prize pack, we remain committed to the proper disposal of appliances,” Freeman said. “As a partner in the EPA’s Responsible Appliance Disposal Program, we’re using the best practices available, even beyond what is required by federal law. We are protecting the environment, and we want customers to join us in this effort.”
