Pelion man arrested on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor

Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) - Justin Darrel Rawl, 22, of Pelion, has been arrested on multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The announcement of his arrest was made by the SC Attorney General’s Office. Rawl was taking into custody on October 23rd and has been charged with six counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the Attorney General's Office, investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This tip is what allowed them to find and focus on Rawl. They discovered that he was in possession of multiple files containing child pornography after executing a search warrant.

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators, along with the Attorney General’s Office made the arrest. Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff's Office, the US Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) were also involved. The arrest team also included members of the state's ICAC Task Force.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
