Lexington County man being held in North Carolina jail now wanted for murder in South Carolina

Kershaw, SC (Paul Kirby) - A Lexington County man who is in a North Carolina jail on charges of attempted murder, is believed to have had a hand in a crime in Kershaw County, South Carolina that led to a man's death. This is according to the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office.

 

Kershaw County sheriff’s deputies say that Corey Perrine, 25, of Lexington, will be charged with murder in connection to the death of Cletis Edward "Eddie" Baker. According to the Midlands' Fox affiliate WACH (wach.com), the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office said that Perrine is in jail North Carolina on two charges of attempted murder.

 

On Sept. 18th of this year, deputies found Baker's body wrapped in a blanket alongside a road in Kershaw County. Investigators later charged four suspects with accessory after the fact of murder.

 

The Kershaw County Sheriff's office has said they will take the necessary steps to bring Perrine back to South Carolina to formally answer the charges against him in Baker's death.
