Lexington, SC – Last Friday, November 15, 2019, Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green was honored to receive the Strom Thurmond Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement. In was presented at the ceremony that was held at the Lexington Two Innovation Center in Cayce, South Carolina.
These awards were established in 1983 by Senator Strom Thurmond to recognize outstanding achievements in law enforcement. Each year, a law enforcement officer from municipal, county, state and federal are chosen to receive this award.
In a statement released over social media, the town’s leaders congratulated Chief Green on being nominated and receiving the 2019 Strom Thurmond Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement for officers of municipal departments.
