Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) - Wittenberg Lutheran Church’s Soup Kitchen had a wonderful day last Saturday. During a meal open to the community, they served 240 people generous plates of food and prepared a number of Thanksgiving baskets.

The community’s donations, along with the volunteers forWittenberg, made this all possible. The Batesburg-Leesville Fire Department loaned them their big grill, and Ken Lorick, Chip Spradley, Greg Long, Michael Reed and John Banks cooked the chicken.

On their social media page after the event ended, a church representative wrote, “I hope each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. My heart is full, and I appreciate the continued support. God’s work, our hands!”
