Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – First responders were on the scene of a serious collision south of Swansea at Savannah Hwy. (Hwy. 321 S) and Lee Whitt Road Tuesday morning. According to the SCHP, two people perished in the accident.
Several were trapped in the wreckage, and firefighters worked with hydraulic tools to free them. The road was closed for some time. According to Sr. Trooper David Jones, he said he believed that traffic was flowing at 10:00 a.m. There is no further information currently available.
Deputies from Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher's office were on the scene. The SCHP is also investigating the accident.
