Lexington Police Department announces winner of Art Rish Employee of the Year award

January 15, 2020

Lexington, SC – Chief Terrence Green announced Monday that Patrolman First Class Kimberly Honeycutt was chosen by her peers as the 2019 recipient of the ”Art Rish - Employee of the Year” Award.

PFC. Kimberly Honeycutt has been with the Lexington Police Department for nearly 13 years and during that time she has worked assignments within the Patrol Division, the Criminal Investigations Division as a Victim’s Advocate, the Special Operations Division as a School Resource Officer and currently she works within the Office of Professional Standards as the Terminal Agency Coordinator.

PFC. Kimberly Honeycutt is a certified School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, NCIC Instructor, D.A.R.E. Instructor, Specific Skills Instructor and a 2016 graduate of Leadership Lexington County.

As the TAC, she is the liaison with the agency and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and is responsible for ensuring all National Crime Information Center (NCIC) records are accurate and complete.  She also maintains the agency’s in-house warrants and is the point of contact for the South Carolina Information Exchange (SCIEx).  She is also the Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) which means she is responsible for agency compliance with FBI/CJIS security policy and the point of contact with Information Technology & System Audit (ITSA Audit).  Her work requires her to complete audits and is instrumental in ensuring that the Lexington Police Department adheres to the requirements of multiple platforms and information sharing systems.

Beyond her daily responsibilities, PFC. Kimberly Honeycutt often uses her School Resource Officer experience to assist in Lexington County School District One schools within the Town of Lexington and always has her radio on, showing up to assist officers or respond when calls are backed up on especially busy days for the Patrol Division.

Chief Terrence Green said, “In all that she does, PFC. Kimberly Honeycutt makes herself available to assist with needs anywhere within the department and is seen by her fellow officers as a real team player.  Her devotion to her job is a benefit to the Town of Lexington community and she’s an unsung hero with her work as Terminal Agency Coordinator, which requires a level of accuracy and attention to detail that few could put as much energy into as she does.”

PFC. Kimberly Honeycutt was presented with this award during the annual Lexington Police Department Christmas Party on Friday, December 13, 2019, and she was recognized by the Town of Lexington Council during their monthly meeting on Monday, January 6, 2020.
