Lexington County schools cancel after-school activities for Thursday

Lexington County, SC (Paul Kirby) — Due to expected poor weather conditions Thursday afternoon, Lexington County schools are canceling all after-school activities this afternoon, February 6, 2020. This is being done out of an abundance of caution for both students and staff members

This means that the districts are canceling all daytime and evening meetings. This also includes events scheduled to take place at any of the districts’ schools, performing arts centers, fields or facilities that include all of each district’s programs, athletic practices or events, adult education classes, school or district-related meetings, events, or extra-curricular activities scheduled for today.

District officials across the county will continue to monitor the weather and send parents, staff, and students more information should anything change through the district’s telephone calling system.

Parents can also get updates and information about school openings and closings by following each district on Facebook or Twitter or the local media.
