Shamrock Parade's Grand Marshal announced

Lexington, SC - The Lexington County Blowfish are pleased to announce the Grand Marshal for the 5th Annual Lexington Shamrock Parade. Local media icon Jonathan Rush will lead the parade down Main Street Lexington on Saturday, March 14th beginning at 2pm. The Shamrock Parade is presented in part by the Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center, the Town of Lexington, O'Hara's Public House and the Lexington County Blowfish.

Born and raised just over the ridge in the red clay of Saluda County, Jonathon Rush began his radio career in Lexington County in then WBLR in Batesburg-Leesville. After radio jobs in Ga, NC, and one winter was enough in Ohio, he brought The Morning Rush to 104.7 WNOK in 1988 and then moved his morning show to 97.5 WCOS in 2008! Jonathon was most recently honored as the 2019 South Carolina Broadcasters Association “Masters” Award. Jonathon was also the winner of this year's Blowfish Boiled Peanut Eating Competition at the South Carolina State Fair representing 97.5 WCOS/iHeart Media. Jonathon and his beautiful wife Sally have been married 32 years and they are the proud parents of Janie, John, David and Lee.

“Jonathon, and his voice, are synonymous with radio in the Midlands,” Blowfish co-owner Bill Shanahan stated. “The Blowfish are looking forward to honoring Jonathon and his 30 plus years serving the Midlands and the radio listeners of Lexington County for his on-air talent, fun promotions and community goodwill.” Jonathon Rush will be presented his "2020 Grand Marshall Official Sash" at the Blowfish annual Shamrock Media Luncheon.
