West Columbia city operated parks closed to reduce potential COVID-19 coronavirus exposure

West Columbia, SC – In the interest of reducing potential exposure to COVID-19 coronavirus, all City of West Columbia parks, community centers, playground equipment, tennis courts, picnic shelters, and restroom facilities are closed until further notice.

Please remember that some recreational areas and facilities that are in the city do not belong to the City of West Columbia. Some are owned and maintained by the Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission, Lexington School District Two, area churches and other private entities. The use of these recreational areas are governed by the entity, group, or agencies that owns them. In some cases, the use of a recreation facility may be considered trespassing. This is up to its owner to decide. If you do go out to a recreational area to play or exercise, make sure you know who owns it and if it is open to the public before enjoying it.
