Country Club of Lexington host law enforcement officers during National Police Week

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Country Club of Lexington has been honoring law enforcement officers as a part of National Police Week. The entire week of May 15th is permanently designated as such across America. May 15th is designated National Peace Officers day. It was set aside to honor and remember officers by President John F. Kennedy during his time in office. 

According to Ben Williams, the new general manager of the country club, the private club has given officers free rounds of golf as guests of members this week. The week of May 15th is annually designated as National Police Week.  On Friday May 15, 2020, the club’s flags will be flown at half staff as ordered by the President of the United States to observe Peace Officers Memorial Day.


The Country Club of Lexington decided to welcome all peace officers during the week that is set aside to honor these hardworking men and women that keep us safe. It is also a time to pause and reflect on officers who have served but are no longer with us.


According to their website at www.ccoflexington.com, the Country Club of Lexington is an affordable, private club located south of the town of Lexington. It is located at 1066 Barr Road.In addition to the golf course, the club offers several other amenities including an Olympic size swimming pool, seven tennis courts, a grill area, and banquet/meeting rooms. ​
