Shumpert’s IGA burglarized early Thursday morning

Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) – Shumpert’s IGA on Pine Street in Pelion was burglarized overnight according to Pelion Police Lieutenant John Rebojl. Lt. Rebojl said that law enforcement officers received the call regarding the break-in sometime around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

Rebojl said that the suspect or suspects took some items that they could grab quickly, like cigarettes, before fleeing the scene. He said he believed that some footage from the store’s surveillance system will show images of the crime in progress. Rebojl said he hoped to release those images and additional information that might help to identify the perpetrators over the next few days.
