Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) - Police officers with the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department hope that you can help them return a small pickup truck to its rightful owner. They say it was stolen on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Police say that someone took the 1990 Ford Ranger from where it was parked along Bernard Street in the town. It was sitting just across the street from the owner’s home. The attached photograph is not the actual truck but one that is very similar to it.
These Ranger pickups were very popular in their day and although there were many of these trucks sold, you don’t see as many of this year’s model running and still on the road today. The truck's owner told officers that the paint on the hood was fading. It also had a Carolina Gamecock tag in the center of the front bumper but that had been broken. The portion of that tag that had the Gamecock on it had fallen off and was missing. It might not look like much to you but still, it belonged to someone who cares that it's gone. You might say it was an oldie but a goodie.
If you have any information about who stole the truck or where it is, please contact Corporal Harpalani at 803-532-4408.
