South Congaree, SC - 03/16/2021 (Paul Kirby) - Congaree Cares, a small volunteer group that gathers to plan activities and events in and around the South Congaree community, is working on a new Patriotic Project. This project will be an outward and visible way that area businesses and residents can demonstrate their American Patriotism.
Congaree Cares hopes that they can find local businesses and citizens willing to purchase, display, and store special wooden cutouts or silhouettes that depict soldiers in reverent and patriotic poses three times each year. They’d like to see these displayed on Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Veterans’ Day.
Remember, these aren’t just for businesses. Although businesses often have the best road frontage for these to be seen, they would make attractive pieces for anyone’s yard. They’d also be a perfect gift for the veteran in your life.
Currently the committee is asking for donors to purchase silhouettes that will be given to a local business to display. If enough of these are put out, the patriotism will become symbolic of South Congaree and act to unify the community with a common cause, the act of serving one’s country.
DOWNLOAD ORDER FORM:
If you own a business and want to buy one or would just like to participate, you can purchase any number of silhouettes. You can also sponsor one for someone else.
Mr. Ray Snyder of Aiken, SC, a hobbyist makes these for his own enjoyment. He has offered to make the silhouettes at below cost. Because these are being done so inexpensively, payments go directly to Mr. Snyder. Checks should be made payable to: Ray Snyder with South Congaree Silhouette on the memo line. Congaree Cares will pay Mr. Snyder upon delivery of the silhouettes.
