Georgia police officers believe that car theft suspect may frequent Lexington or Richland Counties

Lexington County, SC (Paul Kirby) - Officers from the Appling, Georgia Police Department are searching for a suspect who stole multiple vehicles from several dealerships in their jurisdiction. According to those officers the suspect may live in or frequent Lexington or Richland counties in South Carolina.

According to Georgia officers, the suspect enters a dealership under the premise of looking at a new vehicle. At some point during the sales pitch the suspect distracts the salesman and then swaps out the dealership’s key fob with one he brought with him. Later, he returns to the dealership and uses the key fob he swapped to access the vehicle and get away.
