Lexington, SC - 02/05/2021 (Paul Kirby) – On Thursday, February 4, 2021 at approximately 2:45 p.m., two white males working together stole a catalytic converter from a box truck parked at Michaelis Mattress on Columbia Avenue in the Town of Lexington. An employee caught them in the act of the attempted theft, and they fled from the scene in a green Ford SUV before police could be notified or arrive. The damages to the delivery truck are estimated at $400.

This has become a serious problem county wide and apparently the thieves are becoming more brazen. You don’t often see this type of crime in broad daylight.

Police are asking that you look at these photos carefully. If you recognize this vehicle or know who drives one like it, please call the Lexington Police Department with that information. You can contact Detective Heath at 803-951-4642.
