Lexington PD traffic stop leads to discovery of “Cereal Treats” that were more than meets the eye

Lexington, SC 07/24/2023 (Paul Kirby) – Officers of Bravo Shift of the Lexington Police Department’s Patrol Division netted some treats that were more than the container promised during a weekend traffic stop. In fact, the Fruity Peebles Cereal Treats bag that contained drugs was just one of the illegal items that eventually led to the arrest of two men.

The officers pulled over a vehicle for traffic violations and when they began to speak with the men in the vehicle, that led to the discovery of Cocaine, marijuana, a Schedule II narcotic, and a handgun. The two men were charged with multiple charges. Those included Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic, Unlawful Carry of a Handgun, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Obey a Police Officer, and other traffic citations.

Both men were booked into the Lexington County Detention Center where they later faced a judge for a bond hearing.
