One ejected from vehicle collision near Three Fountains Wednesday morning

Three Fountains, SC 08/04/2021 (Paul Kirby) – One person was ejected from a vehicle collision that occurred near the Three Fountains community Wednesday morning. The crash occurred between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. on Steele Road between Shelton and Platt Springs Roads according to Lexington County’s 911 Emergency Communications Center.


Firefighters and EMS personnel responded from Lexington County’s Department of Public Safety. This included emergency units from the Pine Grove, South Congaree, and the Oak Grove areas. SC State Troopers also responded along with deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

The first firefighters to arrive confirmed that one person had been ejected from the vehicle that was involved in the crash. First responders and EMS personnel immediately began providing care for that patient and preparing to transport. That patient was transported by ground ambulance to the trauma center at Prisma Health’s Palmetto Richland Campus according to the SC Highway Patrol. It's believed that this person's injuries were serious in nature.


As of Wednesday afternoon, no further information regarding what led up to the crash had been released by the SCHP. The status of the inured was also unavailable at that time.
