Lexington, SC 03\01\2024 - In preparation to fill the Old Mill Pond with water, the Town of Lexington is lowering the water

levels at Gibson Pond and Barr Lake over the next week.

The lowering of water levels is for repair work to be performed on the Old Mill Pond concrete spillway. Once the spillway work is complete, water levels at Gibson Pond Dam and Barr Lake will return to normal.

Soon afterwards, the water level at the Old Mill Pond will then return to preflood conditions. The Town of Lexington is constructing a one-mile long, paved walking trail around the Old Mill Pond that will open to the public soon.

More information about a grand opening date will be forthcoming.
