Lexington County firefighters fight garage and multiple vehicle fire near Lexington Monday

Lexington, SC 09/14/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A detached garage with multiple vehicles inside caught fire and burned in the 100 block of Hickory Trace Drive off Old Cherokee Road Monday. Firefighters from both Lexington County and the Irmo Fire District worked together to fight the blaze.

According to Jessica Imbimbo, a spokesperson for Lexington County, there were no injuries as a result of the fire. She said that it took the fire crews about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control. It was contained to the building of origin.


In total, there were six fire units on the scene with 16 firefighters and their supervisor. Lexington County EMS also had an ambulance of standby at the scene during the height of the fire to ensure that everyone was safe.


The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the exact monetary loss from the fire is not available at this time.
