South Congaree man charged with molesting child

South Congaree, SC – Investigator Leah Kates with the South Congaree Police Department has arrested a 44-year-old South Congaree man on charges that he sexually molested a girl under the age of 12. An adult contacted the police and reported the incident to them in early July of this year.
Larry Donald “Donnie” Tomlin, Jr. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 12 and disseminating obscene material to a minor under the age of 12. He has been booked into the Lexington County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
In South Carolina, when a victim is less than eleven years of age, Criminal Sexual Conduct with a minor, first degree, is a felony and has a sentencing range of twenty-five (25) years to life imprisonment.
When a minor is under twelve years of age, the Dissemination of Obscene Material to the minor is a felony and has a maximum sentence of fifteen (15) years imprisonment.
