Over 200 attend the B-L Primary “Dads and Kids Pizza Night” event

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - BL Primary hosted its 3rd annual Dads and Kids' Pizza Night at the school on September 6. Over 200 dads (or dad figures) and students attended the event. All were treated to a free pizza and drinks meal in the cafeteria. PE teacher Rob Bouknight shared information with the men about the school's WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student's life. The goal of WATCH D.O.G.S. is to have dads or dad figures spend at least one day during the school year at the school to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes, ears and hands. The WATCH D.O.G. S. program is open to dads, male guardians, grandads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers. For information on how you can become a part of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program at BLPS, please call Mrs. Charlene High, assistant principal or Mrs. Darlene Simpkins, school counselors at 532-4452.
