It’s official, Bogart’s is coming to Three Fountains

Three Fountains, SC – Bogart’s, a popular restaurant and bar that has called Triangle City in the city of West Columbia home for the last 15 years, has signed a lease to move to the Three Fountains area of Lexington County. According to Jason Jones, the owner of the eatery, he signed the lease on September 13 and hopes to be open in the new location around the 15th of October, 2016.

Jones said he was blown away when he learned recently that the owners of Zesto’s in Triangle City had purchased the property that his small restaurant currently sits on. They plan to tear the building down to provide additional parking for their business and that left Jones with just a short time to find a place to go or close.

Although he says he was happy as a member of the business community in West Columbia where he was raised, he wasn’t ready to talk about trying to build a new structure to house his business from the ground up. That left him with the option of finding a suitable building in West Columbia and Cayce or moving further out into the county or maybe to Lexington. After a quick search around the city and Lexington, Jones determined that the county was his best option.

The building that Jones has leased and will renovate had been a small Mexican restaurant. It is located behind the McDonalds in the plaza that once housed the Piggly Wiggly grocery store.

Jones wants to replace the floor covering in the new building, move some walls around, and completely re-do the bar area. He plans to close the West Columbia location with a big party on September 30th and will immediately begin moving fixtures to the new location the next day. “If all goes well with DHEC and SLED’s regulatory divisions, I hope we won’t be closed but a few weeks,” Jones said during a telephone interview.

The new location will actually expand the eatery’s hours somewhat because they will be opened for the mid-day meal on Saturdays now, something they haven’t done in the past. When it reopens, Bogart’s hours will be open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Jones, who is a graduate of BC High School, has had a great relationship with the businesses, residents, and agencies that call West Columbia and Cayce home for many years. He has hosted the Cayce West Columbia Chamber’s business after hours on a number of occasions. He has also had a steady catering job with a local Christian school that he provides with lunches each day for its students. He does a great catering business with Lexington County School District Two, its administrative offices, and many of its individual campuses across the area.

Bogart’s is best known for its affordable meals that includes wings, burgers, great steaks, salads, and more. Their bar features both house and top shelf spirits and a great assortment of beer in bottles and on draft.

Jones says that most of his staff members have committed to stay with him through the move. They are well known and loved for their friendly attitudes, great service, and their familiarity with the regulars that come back week after week. Bogart’s patrons run the gambit from young too old and you’ll often see families enjoying a meal together alongside younger singles a small groups of friends.
