LEXINGTON, S.C. — During the September 20, 2016 regular monthly meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board approved the promotion of J. Earl Cockrell to supervisor of the Gilbert Transportation Office.

A Transportation employee in Lexington One for more than two decades, Cockrell became a bus driver for the Gilbert attendance area in 1993. He serves as dispatcher for afterschool program bus routes, too.

As an office assistant for the past 10 years, Cockrell also has experience in the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Office where he handles parent calls, timekeeping and bus routing among other duties.

Cockrell is a graduate of Saluda High School.
