Meadow Glenn student rescued after ditching school

LEXINGTON, S.C. — This morning, Friday, September 30, 2016, a Lexington County School District One sixth-grader was dropped off by a parent at Meadow Glen Middle School. The student did not enter the school but, instead, chose to go into the woods nearby.

During the day, the parent returned to the school to drop off the student’s book bag. The school then realized that the student was not at school and notified local authorities.

The student was found in the woods nearby. However, because she was entangled in some briers, she required assistance getting back out of the area.

The Lexington Police Department along with Lexington County's fire, and EMS personnel were able to get the student out quickly and brought her to safety.
