“Mutt Mingle” at Gibson Park A Lexington County Family Event for Dog Lovers
Lexington, SC - The Lexington Countywide Stormwater Consortium will host Mutt Mingle on Thursday evening, Oct. 13, 2016, at Gibson Park(241 Gibson Rd., Lexington) from 5:30 p.m.– 7:00 p.m.
Join us for fun and games related to taking great care of your pet(s) while helping to reduce pet waste pollution in our Lexington County Waterways. There will be give-aways, prizes for winners of our hilarious version of corn-hole and treats for your dog at this event, which is free to the public.
While Mutt Mingle is meant to be fun, it has a serious purpose. Pet waste has three times more pathogens in it than human waste. When it rains, pet waste that is left on the ground washes into our local streams and rivers through the storm drainage system. This water is not treated at a water treatment plant, and it pollutes the waters that we use for swimming, fishing, and drinking.
Mutt Mingle at Gibson Park will delight your family and should make the practice of picking up after your pet, not only a way to be a good neighbor, but also a way to help keep our waterways healthy and clean for years to come.
