Lexington School District Two elementary bus involved in crash

Gaston, SC – A Lexington County School District Two school bus was involved in an accident with another vehicle at the intersection of Woodcoat Drive and Hwy 321 south this morning shortly after 6:00 a.m. This is northeast of the town of Gaston.

According to Lance Corporal David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol, the school bus driver was attempting to turn left onto Hwy 321 when the bus was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the bus has been charged with failure to yield the right-of-way in the incident. There were 6 students on board the bus, but no injuries to the students in the wreck were reported. One teacher's assistant did receive minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The students on the bus who were involved in the wreck were headed to R.L. Davis Elementary School. District officials quickly arrived on the scene of the accident and were making other arrangements to transport the students to the school. All parents were notified by district personnel of the incident involving their children.
