Gilbert man serving in Afghanistan killed by roadside bomb

Gilbert, SC – A Gilbert man has died while serving in Afghanistan. A source close to the man’s family confirmed that they were notified by representatives of the agency he was working with Saturday afternoon.

According to the information provided by his family, Peter Provost, a resident of Gilbert, SC, was killed by an IED, or improvised explosive device. Several other members of the military and civilian contractors were also killed in the same incident.
