Body off Olde Farm Road identified as local doctor


Lexington, SC - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the man found dead in a wet area off Olde Farm Road near Lexington High School.

The coroner says the victim is 68-year-old Dr. Wayne Black, a longtime resident of the Lexington area. Dr. Black's body was located on property near his own residence. There is no foul play suspected at this time; however, the investigation of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of his body is ongoing.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Department got a call that there was a body in a wet area off Olde Farm Road. EMS and the fire service responded along with deputies to that incident location.

When emergency responders arrived, they found Dr. Black’s body in a wooded, watery area.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday to determine the exact cause of death.
