L.P.D. KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAYS WITH TOYS FOR TOTS CAMPAIGN


Lexington, S.C. (November 17, 2016) – The annual Toys For Tots “Fill The MRAP” campaign begins tomorrow and will continue over the next three weeks with donation events scheduled at Kmart, Target and Walmart.

As in years past, the objective for this year’s Toys For Tots campaign will be to fill the Lexington Police Department Emergency Services Team (E.S.T.) MRAP vehicle with toy donations. Unless needed elsewhere, the MRAP vehicle will be at each donation event.

The Toys For Tots “Fill The MRAP” schedule includes events on the following days and times:

November 18, 2016 Target 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Novmeber 21, 2016 Target 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

November 22, 2016 Kmart 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

November 23, 2016 Walmart 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

November 28, 2016 Target 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

November 29, 2016 Kmart 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

November 30, 2016 Walmart 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

December 2, 2016 Kmart 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

December 5, 2016 Walmart 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

December 6, 2016 Kmart 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

December 7, 2016 Walmart 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

December 9, 2016 Target 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Chief Terrence Green said, “The annual Toys For Tots campaign is a great way to provide a gift to a child who may not have a Christmas otherwise. We are looking forward to the generosity of the Town of the Lexington community in filling up our MRAP vehicle with toys for those in need.”

Toys For Tots donations will be accepted until December 9, 2016 and can also be dropped off at the Lexington Police Department at 111 Maiden Lane in Lexington on week days during business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
