Couple leads deputies on a short chase on Platt Springs Road

Red bank, SC – Lexington County deputies were led on a high-speed chase on Platt Springs Road yesterday. Eventually, the occupants of the fleeing car were stopped and arrested after the short pursuit.

A spokesman for the department said that the driver of the car, 25-year-old Daniel Hill, is being charged with failure to stop for blue lights. His passenger, 26-year-old Brittany Knight, is also charged with third-degree assault and battery.

Deputies’ were trying to serve a warrant on Knight at a home off Platt Springs Road. Knight and Hill refused the deputies commands to exit their car and initiated the chase which lasted for just a few minutes. Knight had a bench warrant for the assault charge from a prior incident.

The pair were arrested without incident after Hill finally pulled the car over. They have been booked into the jail in Lexington.

No one was injured during the chase.
